Laboratory Assistant

The Science Team at Russell Tobin & Associates supporting the Pharmaceutical Industry that has an opening for Technical Lab - Lab Assistant in Lenexa, KS!

Position Summary :

Perform daily laboratory support activities with precision and accuracy to assist laboratory professionals and ensure smooth laboratory operations.

Additional Details :

Contract Length : 12 months with the possibility of extension

Pay range : $16 to $ 19 / hour on W2

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 8 : 00 - 5 : 00

Key Responsibilities :

• Sorting, receiving, and organizing incoming specimens.
• Perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Centrifuge specimens, print and apply labels, record temperature data, and manage specimen storage and retrieval.
• Prepare reagents, media, and samples for testing.
• Build worklists, aliquot specimens into sample containers, check samples for clots or fibrin, and perform inoculation and slide preparation.
• Perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) duties as assigned.
• Resolve pending test lists and locate missing samples.
• Maintain cleanliness and decontaminate work areas regularly.
• Conduct weekly safety or contamination checks as required.
• Maintain and file department records.
• Replace gas cylinders and ensure safe laboratory operations.
• Follow all PPE and safety regulations.
• Operate the laboratory computer system and standard PC software.
• Properly dispose of biohazardous materials.
• Complete all required training and competency assessments.
