Unit Overview :
Become a vital part of our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , providing care to a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative patients from craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgery patients.Caring for hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients via our Comprehensive Stroke Program.Managing a high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , our unit offers opportunities to work with the latest neurosurgical techniques and cutting-edge care.

Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the AHA.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist frequently during the workday.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist and up to 20 lbs. overhead.Capable of carrying up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance and pushing / pulling with 30 lbs. of force.May require performing a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with assistance.May work with protective clothing and equipment due to exposure to chemicals and hazardous materials.Functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch, along with fine motor skills for IV insertions and other tasks.Responsible for operating necessary equipment for the fulfillment of job duties.This job description offers a general overview of the expectations and responsibilities associated with the role.
