Job Title : Tableau Consultant - Institutional Health Dashboards

Location : Remote / City Colleges of Chicago (CCC)

Duration : 4-6 weeks (Contract)

Job Overview :

City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is seeking a Tableau Consultant to refine and enhance its Institutional Health Dashboards. The consultant will be responsible for improving data visualization, alignment, and usability, ensuring that the dashboards are both analytically robust and visually compelling.

The dashboards play a crucial role in data-driven decision-making and tracking CCC's institutional "vital signs." The selected consultant will review existing dashboards, incorporate stakeholder feedback, and implement best practices for visual storytelling and brand consistency.

Key Responsibilities :

Assessment & Planning :

Review 10 existing Tableau dashboards and stakeholder feedback.

Evaluate usability, alignment, and data visualization quality.

Develop a detailed enhancement plan with recommendations for design improvements.

Data Visualization & Design :

Implement best practices in visual storytelling and dashboard design.

Refine individual charts, data representations, and UI / UX elements.

Ensure brand consistency using CCC's visual guidelines (branding.ccc.edu).

Provide alternative recommendations with clear rationale when needed.

Implementation & Documentation :

Apply approved enhancements directly in Tableau.

Deliver a Data Visualization Standards Guide to support future maintenance.

Ensure dashboards are optimized for usability and long-term consistency.

Required Qualifications :

5+ years of experience in Tableau development and dashboard design.

Strong background in data visualization and storytelling techniques.

Experience working with stakeholder feedback to improve reporting tools.

Proficiency in UI / UX design principles for dashboards.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines within a 4-6 week project timeline.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with higher education analytics or institutional reporting.

Familiarity with brand guidelines and corporate visualization standards.

Deliverables :

Dashboard Enhancement Proposal (including recommendations for design improvements).

Refined Institutional Health Dashboards (enhanced Tableau visualizations).

Data Visualization Standards Guide (for future maintenance and consistency).
