HTI is seeking an IT Intern at a brand-new multi-metal recycling startup in Augusta, GA. Aurubis is the leading provider of non-ferrous metals and one of the largest copper recyclers worldwide. This German-based company is known for their commitment to environmental sustainability, diversity, and their employees. With plans to be fully operational in mid-2024, this facility is expected to become a major player in the North American supply chain and a significant employer in the greater Augusta area.
This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in IT within a professional manufacturing environment. The rate of pay is $20 per hour. We need candidates to be able to work at least 20 hours per week but can allow for additional hours based on the candidate's availability. This internship is expected to last three to six months but may be extended depending on company need and candidate availability.
Responsibilities : Technical Support :
Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting for end users.
Provide support with setup, configuration, and maintenance of computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
System Administration :
Support user account creation, password resets, and permissions in Active Directory or similar systems.
Help with updates, patching, and monitoring of IT systems.
Networking & Infrastructure :
Assist in maintaining network equipment and cabling.
Monitor system performance and report issues to IT staff.
Documentation & Inventory :
Maintain accurate IT asset and equipment inventory records.
Document processes, troubleshooting steps, and system updates.
Projects & Research :
Participate in IT-related projects, including system upgrades and software rollouts.
Research and recommend tools, solutions, or best practices for IT improvements.
Qualifications :
Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Basic understanding of hardware, software, and networking concepts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite; exposure to Windows and / or Linux operating systems preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
