Tool & Die Maker (Apprenticeship)

COMPENSATION : $17.00 - $22.00 Per Hour (Depending on experience)

LOCATION : Lansing, MI

SCHEDULE (MONDAY-FRIDAY, POSSIBLE WEEKENDS) :

  • 1st Shift : 6 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM
  • 2nd Shift :  5 : 00 PM to 3 : 30 AM

POSITION OVERVIEW : Seeking an apprentice for Tool & Die Maker to develop skills through on-the-job training and apprenticeship in die construction and tryout. This position focuses on high-quality craftsmanship in a team environment, aiming to meet company and customer standards efficiently.

POSITION PRIORITIES :

  • Assist in building Line, Transfer, Gang, and Progressive tooling for sheet metal dies.
  • Develop skills in component build and conventional build.
  • Identify and solve problems, implement fixes into tooling.
  • Learn to discover and resolve die issues related to product quality.
  • Operate tool room equipment and perform welding as required.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Run CNC Machines, Manual Machine Equipment, Presses, Cranes, Fork Trucks.
  • Engage in pressing operations and assist in tryouts.
  • Commit to continuous improvements and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure quality of products, processes, or services.
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

  • High school diploma or equivalent with two years of related work experience preferred.
  • JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :

  • Operate various equipment with training provided.
  • Use judgment and initiative to select effective work methods and tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Background in tool and die industry a plus.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Frequently lift / move items over 50 pounds.
