The Olefins & Polymers USA division of INEOS is one of the largest producers of olefins and polyolefins in North America. From its manufacturing locations at Chocolate Bayou and the Battleground Manufacturing Complex, it is a merchant marketer of butadiene, ethylene, polypropylene and high-density polyethylene with annual revenue of over $4b.

The Chocolate Bayou Site is located in Southeastern Texas about 40 miles South of Houston and consists of two Olefins units that produce approximately 4.0bn pounds / year of ethylene, 2 Polypropylene units that produce approximately 1.0bn pounds / year of polypropylene, and the Light Ends storage & transfer facilities at Stratton Ridge.

There is a need for an Environmental Engineer at the Chocolate Bayou facility. The Environmental Engineer position is responsible for regulatory compliance at the CBW facility. The role will manage and improve the overall site air compliance and permitting programs, provide regulatory guidance, and enhance the environmental excellence culture at the site.

Responsibilities include ensuring permit applications and environmental reporting are completed in a timely manner while accuracy is maintained. The position involves considerable contact with the CBW Operations, Laboratory, Maintenance, Safety, and Management personnel. The position also establishes liaison with State and Federal environmental regulatory agencies as well as intra-company environmental technical groups.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

Accountability 1

The position is accountable for understanding and putting into practice the INEOS 20 Principles.

• Champion the INEOS 20 Principles; apply them to all SHE goals and work processes.

Accountability 2

The position’s primary responsibility is for air regulatory topics, with secondary responsibility for water and waste topics.

Accountability 3

The position is accountable for preparing and submitting TCEQ and EPA permit applications and responding to any agency inquires / requests.

Accountability 4

The position is accountable for ensuing compliance with TCEQ and EPA regulatory requirements and reporting. This includes :
