The Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) is a state-of-the-art observation unit, serving adults and adolescents experiencing a psychiatric crisis. The CSU can serve up to 12 patients at a time, in an open, therapeutic milieu. The CSU fosters a collaborative, inter-professional environment that supports all aspects of nursing practice, allowing you to deliver high-quality care using the most advanced technologies paired with the latest advancements in nursing. Members of the interdisciplinary treatment team are prepared to manage patients who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis and in need of immediate, around-the-clock care and observation. The unit's open concept features a large central room with comfortable reclining chairs, rather than traditional hospital beds. Spaces for individual therapy are located immediately adjacent to the central living space. The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) to assess patients' nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice.
Percent of Time : 100% - 40 hours per week
Schedule : Evening Shifts - 1500-2300. Holidays that land on the weekend or weekday would be included
Location : Located in Iowa City, Iowa
SEIU Pay Plan :
Pay Differentials : Shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Inpatient differential of $10,000.00 per year

Qualifications
Education Required :
OR; Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP), MSN / Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN, MA) is required.
