Pay : $24.50 / hour

Location : Lenexa, KS 66219

Shifts Available :

  • Position 1 : Tues-Sat, 4 : 00 PM-12 : 30 AM (CT)
  • Position 2 : Tues-Sat, 3 : 00 PM-11 : 30 PM (CT)
  • Position 3 : Tues-Sat, 8 : 00 PM-4 : 30 AM (CT)
  • Position 4 : Tues-Sat, 6 : 00 PM-2 : 30 AM (CT)
  • Position 5 : Tues-Sat, 5 : 00 PM-1 : 30 AM (CT)

Overview :

The Forensic Scientist I supports forensic toxicology operations by preparing, extracting, and analyzing donor specimens in compliance with laboratory procedures and quality standards. Working under the supervision of the Department Supervisor or Group Lead, this role ensures accurate, timely, and legally defensible testing results while maintaining strict chain-of-custody and documentation protocols.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Prepare and process forensic samples in accordance with SOPs.
  • Operate and maintain analytical instruments.
  • Perform quality control, calibrator verification, and reagent preparation.
  • Accurately document testing and results; maintain sample integrity.
  • Conduct routine equipment checks and assist with validation studies.
  • Adhere to production schedules and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
  • Participate in continuing education and competency assessments.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized work environment.
  • Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, or Medical Technology preferred. Other degrees may be considered with sufficient coursework in Chemistry, Biology, and Math (as per NYS lab requirements).
  • Experience : At least 1 year of laboratory experience preferred.
  • Skills :
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow strict procedures and maintain detailed records.
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks and standing / sitting for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
