Job Summary
As a Patient Care Technician, you will perform a variety of technical and direct care tasks including CPR, vital signs monitoring, telemetry, EKG acquisition, wound care, phlebotomy, and assisting with procedures. You will support patients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and meal assistance, while maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care within the scope of NA-C licensure and delegated nursing tasks.
- Assist with patient transport, room turnover, and inventory management.
- Monitor patient conditions, respond promptly to call lights, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Document patient care accurately and assist with scheduling tests and procedures.
- Participate actively in team efforts, including responding to emergency codes and supporting co-workers.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and infection control standards.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.One to two years of patient care experience preferred, with acute care and telemetry experience a plus.Licenses and Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Phlebotomy certification preferred.Skills and Abilities
