We are looking for an experienced Collections Specialist to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This Contract-to-Permanent position is ideal for someone skilled in resolving payment issues and maintaining effective client relationships. The role involves managing account portfolios, identifying payment delays, and implementing solutions to ensure timely collections.

Responsibilities :

• Manage a portfolio of accounts and review aging files daily to monitor payment statuses.
• Make collection calls to customers to address overdue payments and identify underlying issues.
• Investigate payment delays, determine root causes, and work collaboratively with customers to find resolutions.
• Handle accounts placed on credit hold by processing tickets through the designated ticketing system.
• Address more complex customer accounts, requiring advanced problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Analyze customer payment trends to identify inconsistencies and potential risks.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth communication and resolution of payment issues.
• Monitor and maintain accurate records of collections activities to support reporting and decision-making.
• Proven experience in commercial and consumer collections, including handling accounts receivable.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to navigate challenging customer interactions effectively.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to identify trends and discrepancies in payment patterns.
• Aptitude for problem-solving, including identifying root causes and implementing actionable solutions.
• Familiarity with collection processes and billing systems.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to foster productive customer relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple accounts efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency in using ticketing systems and other tools related to collections.
