Field Assistant – Mobile Wound Care Support (Texas)

Support Mobile Wound Care Teams Across Texas – Clinical & Administrative Field Role
Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is seeking Field Assistants across Texas to support our licensed wound care providers (MDs, NPs, and PAs) during their daily visits to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), and private residences.
This is a travel-based support role that blends hands-on clinical setup with administrative documentation, HIPAA compliance, and field coordination. It's ideal for certified healthcare professionals who want to grow in mobile healthcare, post-acute care, or home health services.
Minimum Qualifications
Must meet one of the following :
Certified Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
OR an Associate degree in a healthcare-related field (e.g., Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences)
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Field Support
Travel daily with a licensed provider (MD, NP, or PA) to multiple patient locations
Assist with sterile wound care supply setup and support wound photography documentation
Ensure safe and respectful interactions with patients in SNFs, ALFs, or private homes
Follow infection control, PPE, and documentation procedures in all settings
Administrative Responsibilities
Confirm appointments and assist with real-time route coordination
Complete documentation and communications during scheduled company time only
Upload wound photos and assist with EMR entries (as delegated)
Track shift start / end times, mileage, and supply use
Use Slack, Gmail, and internal systems to report issues and coordinate schedules
Maintain compliance with all OWP company policies, timekeeping, and professional conduct standards
HIPAA & Confidentiality Compliance
Handle all PHI securely and in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Access and transmit patient information only using OWP-approved systems
Complete annual HIPAA and safety training
Report any suspected data breach, device loss, or unauthorized access immediately
Scheduling & Travel
Ride with your assigned provider or travel independently depending on region
Travel up to 36+ miles per day to patient sites
Remain flexible and responsive to schedule changes throughout the day
Scope Limitations
OWP team members in this role :
Do not assess, diagnose, or treat patients
Do not administer medications or perform wound care independently
May only perform tasks delegated by the licensed provider and within certification limits
Must work under general supervision of a licensed provider (MD / NP / PA)
May not perform work duties outside of scheduled and paid working hours
This role is structured in compliance with Texas scope of practice guidelines for unlicensed assistive personnel working under delegation.

Technical, Physical & Safety Requirements
Technical Skills
Familiar with EMRs, Slack, Gmail, and wound photography documentation tools
Able to accurately document field activity and clinical support tasks
Physical Requirements
Lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Frequently walk, climb stairs, and transition between various care settings
Safety & PPE Compliance
Adhere to PPE usage in SNFs, ALFs, and private homes
Follow all OWP, OSHA, and infection control policies
Report unsafe field conditions to the Director of Clinical Operations immediately
Preferred but Not Required
Prior experience in SNFs, ALFs, wound care, hospice, or home health
Familiarity with HIPAA, field documentation, or healthcare workflows
Long-term interest in clinical roles, healthcare coordination, or care team operations
