Overview
The Sr Financial Analyst, Risk Management position reports directly to the Manager, Corporate Risk Management and performs a variety of analytical tasks with some supervision.
Responsibilities
- Supports Manager, Corporate Risk Management in all aspects of the corporate insurance and surety programs.
- Utilizes Excel extensively to develop detailed financial reports and data set comparisons.
- Obtains data from third party claim administrators, brokers and the company's own risk management information system on a monthly basis, analyzes for accuracy, and reports results and trends.
- Prepares Month / Quarter / Year End variance analysis and reconciliation reports.
- Works with the various MasTec divisions and departments to collect, review and consolidate exposure data for insurance submissions.
- Works closely with the insurance brokers and actuarial firm on financial data analysis.
- Assists in the Risk and Insurance pre-acquisition due diligence and post-acquisition integration (M&A).
- Assists in the monthly actuarial analysis by providing accurate and complete loss run data and exposure information to perform variance analysis in-house.
- Develops and maintains integrated databases.
- Monitors loss and exposure information for all lines of coverage and corporate programs.
- Assists in preparing for internal and external audits.
- Manages department invoices and conducts basic accounting functions (i.e. journal entries, general ledger reconciliation).
- Prepares PowerPoint presentations for senior management.
- Assists in non-routine / special projects as needed.
- Performs other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.Advanced Excel skills. Needs to have heavy spreadsheets experience (advance formulas / Pivot Tables / etc.)Proficient computer skills including databases and Oracle.Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking abilities. Needs to be able to look and understand data.Needs to be detail oriented and analytical.Data modeling skills.
