The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Communication Coordinator for the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, the Communication Coordinator is responsible for leading the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of the UTC Advancement and Alumni digital communication efforts.
Responsibilities
Web Content Management and Strategy :
Leads evolving strategy, design, and CMS developments of alumni.utc.edu and give.utc.edu; creates digital content, ensures mobile optimization and accessibility compliance, monitors performance, conducts user testing, and generates periodic reports.
Communication and Content Creation :
Produces the majority of email marketing campaigns for UTC Advancement; creates the monthly “From the Nest” alumni newsletter, gathering content, writing stories, editing images, building emails, and handling distribution.
Administrative :
Participates in brainstorming, planning, and strategy sessions; assists in project management for the Office of Communication; monitors project status and participates in meetings and professional development.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or on track to complete one by December 2025
1+ years of experience in an office setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, creative thinking, and superb writing skills
Excellent time and project management skills, positive attitude
Process‑driven team player and proactive decision‑maker with a strong desire to advance The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (travel responsibilities)
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree
2–4+ years of professional experience in social media management, marketing, public relations or communication
Experience with WordPress, Salesforce, Blackthorn, Formstack, Marketing Cloud, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Asana, and photography
