Position Summary
The Sign Permitting Coordinator plays a critical role in the pre-construction phase of sign manufacturing projects. This position ensures that all required permits, variances, and approvals are obtained accurately and on time to keep projects moving efficiently through production and installation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to communicate effectively with municipalities, clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and interpret sign ordinances, zoning codes, and permitting requirements for various municipalities.
- Prepare and submit permit applications with required drawings, specs, and paperwork.
- Track permit status, maintain communication with municipalities, and resolve issues or revisions as needed.
- Communicate with permitting departments and agencies to address questions or revisions.
- Maintain organized records of all permits, variances, and approvals.
- Work closely with preconstruction department to ensure site and code data are accurate and complete.
- Proactively identify potential issues related to zoning, site access, or installation conditions.
- Provide regular updates on permitting timelines and survey status.
Qualifications
2+ years of permitting or administrative experience in the sign, construction, or architectural field preferred.Familiarity with sign codes, construction drawings, and local municipality processes.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and project tracking software.Ability to read and interpret scaled drawings and site plans.Physical Requirements
