Commercial Loan Officer
Responsible for developing new business, structuring, underwriting, and closing of business and commercial loans, as well as monitoring and maintaining a loan portfolio.
Duties and responsibilities include :
- Meeting with business members and prospective business members to promote the credit union's commercial loan services and solicit new business.
- Interviewing prospective borrowers and requesting necessary information to process loan requests.
- Analyzing applicant's financial status, credit, and evaluating collateral to determine feasibility of loan approval.
- Negotiating loan structure with prospective borrower, including fees, loan repayment terms and other credit terms.
- Underwriting credit requests taking into consideration applicable policies, procedures, guidelines and analyzed risk and presenting processed applications to appropriate approval authorities within the credit union as required.
- Assisting members with inquiries and information requests and resolving issues relating to loan products and services offered.
- Promoting and cross-selling other products and services as appropriate.
- Monitoring loan portfolio to ensure proper management of risk ratings, compliance with loan covenants and early identification of potential problems. Participating in collection efforts as necessary.
- Participating in the credit union's business development activities, representing the credit union in industry and professional associations, community organizations, local business groups, etc.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, business or economics. Minimum five years of commercial lending experience. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, tax returns and legal documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or issues from members, regulatory agencies, or business community participants. PC proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Sales oriented personality preferred.
Compensation
Salary pay range : $90,389 - $152,718 annually. Starting base salary will be determined based on candidate experience, qualifications, education, and local or state wage requirements, if applicable and will fall within the range provided above. In accordance with our Salary Administration policy, new hire base salaries generally fall within the minimum to midpoint of the listed range.
