Intern - Media Relations Job at Milwaukee Brewers in West Allis

Job Description

The Intern - Media Relations will have the opportunity to work as a member of the Communications, Media, and PR functions of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. This position will be directly involved in baseball communications, assisting with media activities involving the Club, including the production and distribution of daily news clips, post-game notes, stat packs, Minor League report, media credentials, etc. Additional responsibilities will include publications and other duties as assigned. This is a year-long paid internship from January through December, averaging 40 hours / week and is eligible for medical benefits.

Responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Compile and distribute daily news clips, stat packs, post-game notes, Minor League report, press releases, etc. internally and to media
• Assist with the production / distribution of media credentials
• Assist with the management of the press box and broadcast booths, meeting the needs of credentialed media members and broadcasters
• Provide statistical research for use in game notes, post-game notes and Minor League report
• Prepare and proofread content for the media guide, team yearbook and Spring Training program
• Assist with press conferences
• Perform general office duties and work on research projects as assigned by media relations staff

Must be recently graduated from an accredited college or university, having pursued a degree or course work related to the functions of the position. Examples include : Broadcasting, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Sport Management, etc. Previous experience working in professional sports (preferably a Major League Baseball team) or college environment in a media relations or sports information role is preferred.
