Job Description

Position : Sr. Java Developer

Location : Seattle, WA or Tempe, AZ Onsite

Duration : long term contract

Job Summary :

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, mission-critical systems powering the organization's next generation.

You will work across teams, influence technical direction, and mentor engineers. You will be expected to balance long-term architectural vision with hands-on implementation and immediate business needs.

Key Responsibilities :

Design, build, and maintain distributed systems handling millions of requests per day
Lead architecture reviews and technology roadmap planning
Drive engineering best practices (code reviews, testing, CI / CD, observability)
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define scalable solutions
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on code quality and design
Identify and solve complex, ambiguous problems across the stack
Own end-to-end delivery from planning to post-launch support

Basic Qualifications :

Bachelor's / Master's degree in computer science or related field

12+ years of professional software development experience

Strong in data structures, algorithms, and system design

Expertise in one or more languages : Java, C++, Python, Go

Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)

Proven ability to lead complex technical projects independently

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience in designing large-scale distributed systems

Deep understanding of microservices, event-driven architecture, or streaming platforms

Familiarity with DevOps tooling, containerization, CI / CD

Strong ownership, bias for action, and problem-solving skills

Prior experience mentoring or leading a small engineering team

Track record of making data-driven architectural decisions
