This is a fully on-site role 5 days a week at 10913 S River Front Pkwy, South Jordan, UT 84095.
Ship Planner Responsibilities :
The Ship Planner role mainly involves planning, executing, and monitoring all container vessels' operations during port rotation.
- Main point of contact for all parties involved.
- Responsible for efficiently planning the loading and unloading of cargo on container ships to maximize space utilization and ensure safe, balanced stowage.
- Issue coastal schedule, prepare and provide inbound and outbound vessel pre-stowage plan to stevedore or terminal operator for cargo operation use ensuring proper ship stress and segregation of hazardous cargo in accordance with IMDG code.
- Timely update of EDI stowage data as well as effectively communicate vessel operation, special cargo, specific stowage arrangement to all appropriate parties.
- Gang ordering through stevedore, monitor progress of cargo operation, improve terminal productivity and completion for on time sailing.
- Control all stevedoring costs to minimize vessel stand-by, detention, shifting, re-stows expenses, use OminiOcean system to optimize the time distribution between port and sea.
- Ensure vessels are in compliance with ports' Water Ballast Management, Security, Environmental programs and navigation safety requirements.

Onboard experienceExperience related to handling ship stowageKnowledge of cargo container operations, or multiple years marine terminal or shipping line's experience as stowage plannerMust have industry related experience, or a maritime college degreeMust be capable of being on call 24x7, including holidaysAdvanced Microsoft Office Suite skillsPreferred Skills :
