Tax Reviewer | Contract

Our client is seeking a skilled Income Tax Reviewer (contract) with 5-8 years of experience in preparing and reviewing individual and small business tax returns. The ideal candidate will be proficient in utilizing UltraTax software and possess strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities :

• Review individual and small business tax returns in accordance with current tax laws and regulations.

Develop and communicate review comments, suggestions, and tax return changes to preparers to meet tax compliance guidelines.

Utilize UltraTax software proficiently to input, review, and finalize tax documents.

Conduct thorough tax research to ensure compliance and identify potential tax-saving opportunities for clients.

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation.

Provide proactive tax planning advice to clients to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.

Maintain organized records of client information and tax documents for easy retrieval and reference.

Review client provided financial statements and make appropriate adjustments for tax compliance

Communicate effectively and professionally with clients to address inquiries, provide updates, and offer personalized tax advice.

Learn and understand the business and industry of clients.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting standards to ensure compliance and provide accurate guidance to clients.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

CPA or Enrolled Agent certification preferred.

5-8 years of experience in tax preparation and review for individuals and small businesses.

Proficiency in UltraTax or another Tax software is required.

Strong understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax documents.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients and colleagues.

Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco / Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
