Duties and Responsibilities
Position Overview :
Reports To : Elections Manager
Education : Associate's Degree or higher required
Certification : State certification within 18 months
Status : Full-Time
Core Responsibilities :
Election Equipment & Technology :
Prepare and test voting equipment (ExpressVotes, DS300s, DS450s, DS850s, DS950s) for each election cycleCreate and install election-specific technologyTest and configure electronic poll booksTrack serial numbers, seal logs, and ballot stock for security complianceAssist with delivery, setup, and retrieval of all voting equipment for early voting and election dayPrecinct Operations & Logistics :
Analyze precinct-specific voter data to determine equipment allocationsManage and support polling location technicians, including troubleshooting on election daySecure and process equipment and materials returned post-electionTraining & Support :
Support training sessions for poll managers and polling location techniciansPrepare hands-on training materials and technical guidesDocumentation & Data Management :
Maintain and update technical manuals and training resourcesArchive ballots, machine tapes, and election records in accordance with policyAssist with post-election processes such as recounts and runoffsPost-Election Operations :
Receive, sort, and secure returned precinct materialsOrganize supplies for secure storage following the protest periodConduct ADA compliance assessments of polling locationsOther Duties :
Cross-trained to assist in all divisions within the board of elections officePerform additional duties as assigned to support election operationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
What You Bring :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Ability to learn and operate ES&S voting systems and related technologiesExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsClear written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently and perform under pressureStrong interpersonal skills and a team-focused mindsetWork Environment & Schedule :
