Structural Engineer (Parking Garages)

The successful candidate will inspect, design, analyze, and ensure the safety of both new and existing parking structures. This involves performing structural calculations, creating detailed drawings and specifications, and assessing the condition of existing garages to recommend repairs, often specializing in issues like corrosion and deterioration. Responsibilities : Manage and prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents required for permitting and construction.Design, analyze, and perform detailed analyses and calculations for new and existing structures to ensure their structural integrity.Conduct on-site inspections and use diagnostics such as ground-penetrating radar or half-cell potential testing to evaluate the existing garage's condition.Develop detailed plans and specifications for structural repairs, such as reinforcement corrosion, spalling, or any other damage to the structure.Prepare reports, including findings, repair recommendations, and expert technical documentation.Work with a multi-disciplinary team and communicate with clients to define project requirements. Qualifications : B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering or a related disciplineA Professional Engineer (PE) license is required, and a QPSI certification is preferred.10+ years of proven experience designing new and existing structural projects, with specific experience in parking structures.Strong knowledge of the engineering principles, building codes, construction, and materials.Working knowledge of structural analysis software like Midas Civil and / or AutoCAD / Revit.
