Purpose of the position

Supports a team of Engineers & Mechanical Designers, and an industry leading engineering division. Providing local engineering support, driving a quality product offering, troubleshooting field problems, while interfacing with Operations, Service and Sales.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Interface with the Direct Sales Team, vendors, and customers
  • Provide engineering design service to all departments
  • Develop new calculation tools, design standards, and work instructions for the Engineering team
  • Complete structural and dynamic analyses of systems and components using advanced engineering tools
  • Strong understanding of virtual / physical validation testing as well as FMEA and product lifecycle management
  • Assist the Sales and Installation departments in preparation of technical literature and training materials
  • Administer engineering design and Company operating procedures
  • Investigate field problems for necessity of design changes and or field conversions
  • Analysis of field failures and generation of technical reports
  • Initiate and support the quality approach of design including GD&T and Systems Engineering methods
  • Develop and maintain design records and manufacturing drawings per procedures
  • Know and understand HIAB Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions
  • Understand and comply with all Safety and Environmental requirements
  • Perform all other duties as required by Supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.

What you’ll need to succeed

Education :

  • Minimum : Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Working experience :

  • Minimum : 2-3 years in similar field.
  • Experience in product development and launch using the Stage Gate process is preferred
  • Competence and skills :

  • Good knowledge of On Road Loading Handling and Trucking industry product function and application
  • Proven ability to lead a team.
  • Excellent management organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to effectively report activities.
  • Ability to make decisions independently.
  • Computer literate / knowledge of Auto-Cad, PTC Creo / SolidWorks, FEA software packages
  • Computer literate / knowledge of Google office and / or Microsoft Office enterprise software
  • Ability to work well with others.
