RN - Acute Care - Registered Nurse

Experience :

• 12 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience is required from any number of months.

Additional Details :

Scheduling : Expected to work every other weekend, every other holiday where applicable.

Block booking and Schedule patterns are based on department needs.

Guaranteed Hours 36

All nurses in department are Gen Med competencies and therefore may be asked to float to any Gen Med unit throughout hospital. Travelers Float First

Bed size / number of rooms in the unit : SSU is currently a 13 Bed unit, we have been approved / plan to expand to up to an additional 10 beds in new expanded location.

Nurse to Patient Ratio : 1 : 4-5; 25 / 7

Required skills and minimum years of experience : General medical Level of Care experience preferred. All RN’s are competencies to general medical nursing.

Work requires a professional level of knowledge of nursing practice and theory at a level that generally can be acquired by completion and graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.

Work requires six to ten weeks unit-specific orientation and on-the-job training to learn department / unit policies, procedures and work routines

Dress Code : No childish scrub characters, as we are an adult unit.
