Be a part of an exciting and fast-paced manufacturing industry as a Permanent 1st Shift Shipping Lead. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping department in a manufacturing environment. It requires a dynamic individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in packing and loading. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on our overall operations and customer satisfaction.

Hours : 7am-3pm (M-F)

Responsibilities :

As a Permanent 1st Shift Shipping Lead, you will be responsible for :

1. Overseeing all aspects of the shipping department, ensuring that all products are packed and loaded accurately and efficiently.

2. Coordinating and supervising the activities of the shipping team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.

3. Utilizing the ERP system to manage shipping schedules, track shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records.

4. Ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and transportation methods.

5. Operating a forklift and yard truck as needed to facilitate the movement of goods.

6. Ensuring adherence to ISO quality systems within the shipping department.

7. Communicating effectively with other departments and stakeholders to address any issues or concerns related to shipping.

8. Implementing and maintaining organization and time management strategies to meet shipping deadlines.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate for the Permanent 1st Shift Shipping Lead position should possess the following qualifications :

1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management.

2. At least 1 year of supervisory or lead experience.

3. A high school diploma or equivalent. Additional education or certification in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.

4. Proficiency in MS Office and experience with ERP systems.

5. Ability to operate a forklift and a yard truck and willingness to learn how to operate a semi-truck.

6. Familiarity with international shipping regulations, transportation methods, and ISO quality systems.

7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment.

9. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

10. Experience working in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

11. Team player; able to effectively communicate with vendors, team members and customers.
