STUDENT ASSISTANCE & SUPPORT COORDINATOR

General Responsibilities :
To provide direct support and guidance to students experiencing crises, vulnerabilities or basic needs challenges. To work collaboratively with campus partners to promote a culture of care and ensure students receive timely, compassionate, and coordinated assistance.
Key Duties & Responsibilities :
1. Coordinates holistic and comprehensive support services for students experiencing crises, vulnerabilities, or challenges related to basic needs.
2. Collaborates with campus and community partners (e.g., Housing, Student Counseling Services, Wellness Promotion, UABPD) to ensure coordinated care, follow-through, and connection to appropriate resources for students of concern.
3. Maintains accurate, timely, and confidential student records within the university’s tracking system (Maxient).
4. Supports outreach and educational initiatives that connect students with campus and community resources, reduce barriers to success, and promote overall well-being.
5. Assists with the development and implementation of programs, workshops, and events that educate the campus community on student support services and available resources.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Pay Range : $17.95 – $25.00
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Higher Education, or related field and two (2) years of related experience is required. Work experience may substitute for the education requirement.
