Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Environmental Engineer III to join our Remediation team in the Buffalo, New York office. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients.

The successful candidate will provide technical skills on projects within the department and will develop strong relationships with the team and clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as part of a project team.

The successful candidate will be committed to the team's success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System.

The job responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following :

Work collaboratively with the Remediation team Project Managers and professionals within other AECOM business lines.

Function as Project Engineer working on projects with various levels of complexity, responsible for technical delivery, design, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.

Prepare remediation designs for various applications including excavation, in-situ injections for bioremediation and chemical oxidation, soil vapor extraction systems, air sparge systems, sub-slab depressurization systems and other technologies.

Prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.

Prepare environmental and process design calculations and related detailed documents (reports, technical specifications, drawings, and cost estimates).

Mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

BA / BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education

Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

Master's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.

5+ years of relevant experience at an engineering consulting firm.

Working toward sitting for Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam.

General civil engineering experience.

Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and junior staff.

Experience as a Project Engineer on large-scale projects.

OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification.

Relocation is not available for this position.

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $80000 to $105000.
