Catholic Charities of Baltimore Weinberg Housing and Resource Center is a low-barrier emergency shelter that provides homeless services to over 275 adult men and women each night in the City of Baltimore. Our services include shelter convalescent care breakfast and dinner showers laundry case management and a variety of life skills and empowerment classes with a focused goal of assisting residents in obtaining permanent housing.
Catholic Charities of Baltimore Weinberg Housing and Resource Center is currently seeking a Life Skill & Wellness Coordinator who is responsible for the planning coordination and oversight of holistic client-centered programs that support wellness recovery housing stability and community engagement. This position ensures that a variety of life skills therapeutic recreational and wellness services are offered consistently to meet the diverse needs of participants. The Life Skills & Wellness Coordinator will also oversee the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Center ensuring the seamless delivery of clinical educational and recreational programming.
The work schedule is Monday- Friday 10am-6pm (flexible is needed on weekends due to Program events)
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Coordinates and leads weekly life skills substance abuse and art therapy groups ensuring sessions are structured therapeutic and aligned with treatment goals.
- Organizes and oversees biweekly housing sessions with the client services team ensuring clients receive guidance and support to secure and maintain stable housing.
- Facilitates wellness and enrichment programs (e.g. knitting meditation exercise bingo dance yoga) that promote physical emotional and social well-being.
- Plans and hosts monthly support and skills-building groupsincluding mens womens financial literacy self-empowerment and spiritual wellnesstailored to client needs.
- Designs and coordinates innovative programming and community events (e.g. movie nights talent shows entertainment grooming workshops etc.) that engage and inspire participants fostering engagement confidence and social connection.
- Oversees daily Wellness Center operations ensuring seamless service delivery and adherence to program standards.
- Coordinates weekly medical exams therapy groups and vaccine clinics to maintain consistent access to essential care.
- Manages health-focused programs including Narcan training and harm reduction initiatives to improve community safety and awareness.
- Monitors housing-related services ensuring clients receive effective navigation goal-setting support and long-term housing stability.
- Recruits trains and supports facilitators volunteers and partners to strengthen and expand program capacity.
- Cultivates partnerships and develops relationships with local organizations and community programs to enhance wellness educational and recreational opportunities for participants.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in program coordination community engagement or related role in human services.Knowledge of substance use recovery mental health housing navigation and trauma-informed care.Certifications :
CPR / First Aid / AED certification (within six (6) months of hire and maintained thereafter).Narcan administration training (within six (6) months of hire and maintained thereafter).REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES :
