Key Responsibilities
Front Desk Management :
Greeting and checking in patients.
- Scheduling appointments and managing the dentist's calendar.
- Handling phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries.
Patient Coordination :
Collecting and updating patient records.
Explaining treatment plans and financial arrangements.Ensuring patient satisfaction and addressing complaints.Billing and Insurance :
Preparing and submitting insurance claims.
Managing patient billing, payments, and accounts.Following up on outstanding balances and claims.Administrative Tasks :
Ordering and maintaining office and clinical supplies.
Coordinating with external vendors (e.g., lab services, equipment maintenance).Ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.Office Organization :
Maintaining a clean and welcoming reception area.
Filing, organizing, and maintaining patient charts and electronic records.Team Support :
Assisting dentists and hygienists with administrative needs.
Coordinating staff schedules, if required.Skills and Qualifications
Educational Requirements :High school diploma or equivalent (an associate degree in healthcare administration or related field is advantageous).
Experience :Applicants must have prior experience working in a dental office.
Strong understanding of dental office operations, procedures, and terminology.Skills :Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft) and basic office tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).Knowledge of dental insurance policies and billing procedures.Traits for Success
