ICU Nursing Job Details

Location : Norwich, Connecticut 06360

Unit : Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with ICU overflow – 25 beds

Shift : 3x12 hour night shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM), every other weekend, holidays as needed

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (option to extend)

Patient Ratios : 1 : 5-6 (floor), 1 : 3 (PCU), 1 : 2 (ICU)

Clinical Cases : Chest pain, stroke care, respiratory failure, sepsis

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2020 - $2070

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience

Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience required

Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Certifications : NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS)

ICU Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and PCU settings

Monitor, assess, and respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions

Administer medications, treatments, and advanced clinical interventions

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR

Participate in stroke management as part of a primary stroke center

Educate and support patients and families with compassionate communication
