Maricopa County School Superintendent

The Office of the Maricopa County School Superintendent is led by the elected Superintendent. The office provides statutory services related to school governing board elections, bond and override elections, appointments, school finance, and maintaining homeschool and private school records. The Superintendent also oversees the Maricopa County accommodation district, ensuring educational opportunities for at-risk students, including those in detention schools.

We Require :
Three years of progressively responsible management and / or supervisory experience in which one year of experience is working in a schoolMaster's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Computer ScienceAn equivalent combination of education and related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basisWe Also Value :

Conduct business process analysis, needs assessments, and implement technology solutions to support school districts and business service staffProvide leadership, consulting, and training to district business offices in areas of finance, payroll, compliance, and business operationsOversee and support the financial system, including updates, troubleshooting, SQL queries, testing, and on-call responsibilitiesEvaluate and improve business services, policies, and procedures; recommend and implement changes to enhance efficiency and complianceEnsure compliance with USFR, Arizona Revised Statutes, Auditor General guidance, federal / state financial regulations, and grant requirementsManage and monitor school district financial activities such as revenue limits, expenditures, reconciliations, garnishments, bond indebtedness, tax reporting, and internal auditsProvide audit and outreach services to maximize funding use for student achievementDevelop and lead in-house training, staff development, and cross-training programs to strengthen financial, accounting, and payroll functionsMaximize existing resources to provide exceptional customer service to school districts, developing new methods and / or programs to support school district operationsOther duties as assignedWorking Conditions :
