Job Summary
Caltech’s Student Health Clinic is seeking Virtual Consulting Physicians to provide medical expertise and support to our small, dedicated health team when the Medical Director, who serves as the supervising physician, is off-site or unavailable. This fully remote position does not require night or weekend coverage. The ideal candidate will collaborate with clinic staff—including physicians, nurse practitioners, and medical assistants—to enhance student care by offering expert consultation on a variety of medical cases and clinical questions typical of an onsite college health clinic when needed by our nurse practitioner staff. This is a flexible, occasional role designed to support low-frequency consultation needs as they arise.
The clinic provides a range of acute and primary care services for enrolled students at Caltech. Onsite resources include a limited supply of oral and injectable medications, an EKG machine, and laboratory services with blood draws sent to LabCorp for processing. We also administer allergy desensitization injections under standing orders from students’ off-site allergists and assist with injectable medications as needed.
