Description

  • Creating & Manipulating complex solid models
  • Inspection and repair markups, including comments and graphics, to provide guidance for structural analysis of the repairs. This includes obtaining internal approvals, facilitating government approval, and coordination with the repair sources
  • Assist in creating technical documents that will provide engineering requirements for repairs. Familiarity with typical repair and manufacturing processes including welding, brazing, riveting, and coating processes including plasma spray a plus
  • Interfacing and coordinating with multiple engineering disciplines to promote the exchange of necessary data in support if engine builds.
  • Technical data review & interpretation
  • Typically has a Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of five to ten years of experience, preferably with gas turbines.

Experience / Qualifications

  • Experience working with Pratt and Whitney Aerospace
  • Ability to read and interpret repair requirements read and interpret part blue prints
  • Ability to understand, apply and interpret ASME Y14.5M standards
  • Have strong working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)
  • Have technical writing skills
  • Familiarity with MS Office products and demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
  • GTF Engine Compressor / Turbine Rotors hardware experience.
  • Mandatory requirement - A working-knowledge of gas turbine engine operating theory.
  • Standard operating procedures, root-cause analysis, mistake-proofing is desired
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, time management skills and the ability to work well with multi-disciplinary groups is required
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience is preferred
  • This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident [“green card” holders], or have refugee or asylee status.”
