VSolvit is looking for a MID Level Applications / Software Developer to provide Information Technology Engineering and support services to the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA).
As an Applications / Software Developer, you will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, performance tuning, provisioning, and recovery procedures for multiple project systems. You will be part of a team of administrators and engineers supporting the IT infrastructure for a variety of enterprise systems. The ability to identify, communicate, and resolve technical issues is important in all aspects of this role. Also able to create and implement into Cloud Base environments and architectures.

Responsibilities
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot applications in GovCloud environments and on premiss servers
- Develop procedures, programs and documentation for IT system, backup and restoration of operating systems, data replication across cloud data centers, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts such as the Systems Security Contingency Plan and Disaster Recover Procedure
- Conduct risk and vulnerability assessment for system and perform system migrations as required. Participate in network and system design to ensure implementation of appropriate system security policies. Perform Security Technology Implementation Guide (STIG) and Information Assurance (IA) validation as required
- Apply required IA and security requirements and other required operating system and software updates
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting NAVSEA enterprise systems
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of applications
- Configure and optimize application performance, including tuning for speed, scalability, and security
- Implement provisioning and deployment procedures for multiple software environments
- Develop recovery and contingency plans to ensure system continuity
- Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity teams to ensure security compliance and system reliability
- Support migration and integration of applications to cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure Government, AWS GovCloud)
- Implement solutions leveraging cloud-native services, ensuring security, compliance, and scalability
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and at least 10 years of relevant engineering experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field and at least 5 years of relevant engineering experience, OR
- Master’s degree in Software Development
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Team player and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytic, quantitative, logic and reasoning skills
- United States Citizenship required
- Active DoD SECRET Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one
- If applicable : If you are or have been recently employed by the U.S. government, a post-employment ethics letter will be required if employment with VSolvit is offered
