Job Summary / Description :

13 News is seeking an energetic and engaging Streaming Host to bring coverage to our digital audience in stunning Tucson Arizona. This position is a combination of digital anchoring / hosting and producing news on our streaming and social media platforms. This is not a traditional anchor position since the host presents both news and non-news content on the streaming platforms. The host will work with our other streaming host and our digital team to develop plan and execute digital streaming strategies as our audience more than doubles each year. Duties / Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Go live according to the shift schedule on streaming and other digital platforms presenting breaking news severe weather community events planned programming etc.

Create short-form and long-form video stories for our website app streaming platforms and social media sites using content gathered by reporters as well as your unique content.

Anchor and produce digital-first updates explainers and special reports.

Coach and collaborate with reporting staff to take advantage of the presentation of their stories on streaming platforms.

Team with the newsroom to identify opportunities for unique digital video coverage.

Help update the stations website and social media with news stories as needed.

Maintain a high quality of content with accurate error-free reporting.

Assist with the creation and implementation of digital strategies and projects that may span multiple weeks or months.

Create digital assets including video photo galleries live video streams and other multimedia to enhance stories.

Book live interviews and segments with sources members of the community and sales clients

Qualifications / Requirements :

Education : Bachelors degree in Broadcast Journalism Communications or a related field or equivalent professional experience

Experience : 3-5 years of experience in a newsroom experience as a streaming host preferred

Specific Knowledge Skills and Abilities :

• Experience using ENPS VMix Singular graphics and internet production tools
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and work as a member of a team
• Advanced understanding of newscast presentation
• Excellent writing and graphics skills with the ability to provide an interesting and substantive product
• The gift of gab
• Ability to focus on coordination of daily and long-range segments from first contact to on-air product
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a creative fast-paced environment
• Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure
• Ability to manage multiple projects and assignments simultaneously
• Previous experience with script writing and editorial experience preferred
