Position Summary : The Embedded Tutor supports both students and instructors in courses at Johnson County Community College.

Key responsibilities include guiding students through science experiments in the laboratory assisting with content related to the lab experiments ensuring student engagement enforcing classroom guidelines or lab safety protocols and completing other duties as requested by the course instructor and supervisor.

Required Qualifications :

• High School diploma with successful completion of specific courses.
• Familiarity with specific coursework or lab techniques used in the assigned class or laboratory.
• Must be enrolled in and maintain at least 3 credit hours at JCCC and 2.5 cumulative GPA through the duration of employment in the position.
• Good communication skills including the ability to listen understand and demonstrate patience when working with students.
• Positions and Required Course Work completion :

BIOL 121 - Successful completion of BIOL 135 with an A grade.

BIOL 135 - Successful completion of BIOL 135 with an A grade

CHEM 122 - Successful completion of CHEM 122 with an A grade or CHEM 220 or higher.

CHEM 125 - Successful completion of CHEM 131 / 132 with an A grade

BIOL 231 - Successful completion of BIOL 231 with an A grade.

Electronics Technology Successful completion of first year courses of Electronics Technology program.

Respiratory Care - Successful completion of first year courses of Respiratory Care Program.
