Position Summary :
The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment throughout DFW International Airport facilities. This position requires adherence to all airport security procedures, safety standards, and electrical codes while working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including conduit, wiring, lighting, receptacles, and power distribution panels.
- Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosis using appropriate meters and tools.
- Ensure compliance with the Electrical Code (NEC), local ordinances, and DFW Airport regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute work.
- Coordinate with airport operations and other trades to minimize impact to airport functions during maintenance and construction activities.
- Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection documentation accurately and on time.
- Adhere to all site safety policies and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Respond to emergency calls and after-hours maintenance needs as required.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while working in public or secure areas of the airport.
Qualifications :
Valid Texas Journeyman Electrician License required.Minimum 4 years of electrical experience in commercial, industrial, or airport environments.Strong understanding of NEC and OSHA safety standards.Ability to obtain and maintain DFW Airport security clearance and badge .Must pass background check and drug screening.Ability to work from lifts, ladders, and confined spaces as required.Proficient with electrical test equipment, conduit bending, and blueprint reading.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Work Environment :
