Overview
The Environmental Quality Service II will be the infield lead. They will orchestrate all confined space operations, rain events, and auto sampler equipment PMs. The EQSII will be tasked with finding Industrial sites that are operating without an industrial permit in the city. EQSII will be the back-up Inspector for large construction site inspections and major violations. The EQSII will help the EQS's prepare court documentation and help them get ready for going to court. The EQSII will have extensive knowledge of all zones and Industrial facilities in the city.
Responsibilities
- Participates in the Storm Water Monitoring of the NPDES program by evaluating monitoring stations and ensuring that they are properly maintained and working, collecting composite and grab samples, and delivering samples to local lab according to specifications
- Assist with hazardous spills that may endanger the MS4 by evaluating degree of hazard, documenting pertinent Information, monitoring cleanup, and remediation of site; providing back-up to fire Haz-Mat team ensuring drainage system is protected from spills and Investigation Illicit connections
- Supervise confined space entry personnel by acquiring and maintaining certifications, understanding proper procedures necessary to operate tripod, winch, and atmospheric testing equipment
- Ensure that all Industrial facilities within the city are meeting proper permit requirements to operate
- Find and cite businesses that are in violation
- Collect date in accordance with NPDES by following permit requirements; successfully implementing procedures of dry and wet weather screening programs, FEMA Inspection programs, high and low risk business Inspections, and submitting timely and accurate documentation of programs
- Conducts routine maintenance on equipment and sampling stations
- Performs other duties as assigned
