This position is .8 FTE, Straight Nights. Schedule includes 8-hour shifts M-F. 12-hour shifts Saturday & Sunday, every third weekend rotation. Current RN License Required. Minimum of 1 year of relevant RN experience is preferred.
An RN position in Gillette Children's Neurosciences Unit involves providing specialized care to pediatric patients (ages 0-17) with complex brain and spine conditions. Nurses in this unit care for children and teens recovering from neurosurgery, managing epilepsy or seizures, and dealing with trauma that affects the brain, bones, or organs. The unit also treats patients with respiratory illnesses, feeding intolerance, and infections. RNs will support neurodiagnostic tests like video electroencephalograms, assist with ketogenic diet initiation, and provide care for patients after traumatic injuries. This role requires expertise in neurological care, strong clinical skills, and a compassionate, family-centered approach.
This position exists to administer family-centered nursing care to patients, advise patients on health maintenance and disease prevention, and / or provide skilled assistance in navigation of the health care system as appropriate to the developmental, cultural, emotional, and medical, surgical, or rehabilitative needs of the patient and their families.
Compensation & Benefits Information
The hourly wage for this opportunity is $41.22-$70.45. Pay is dependent on several factors including number of hours worked within the field, education, and certification / licensure : $1.75 weekend / $2.35 evening / $4.00 night differential is available for this position. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications
Required
Documentation of completion of professional nursing program (RN program)
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license through the MN Board of Nursing
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. If candidate holds valid CPR for through another acceptable organization (as determined by Gillette), candidate may be able to begin employment but must complete Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association within one month of employment.
Must be interested in working with people with short term or long-term disabilities that begin in childhood
Physically able to work hours required and meet physical demands of the position. In certain departments, this will include being part of the off-premise call schedule.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other healthcare related field
Prior nursing experience in a health-related setting
Nursing Specialty Certification relevant to the position
