Speech LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Terraces of Lake Worth,  a skilled nursing facility,   is seeking a highly organized, self-motivated and responsible Part Time   Speech Language Pathologist  with geriatric experience to join our team. The ideal candidate is dedicated to providing for his or her patients and exceeding expectations. As a Speech Language Pathologist you will facilitate the recovery of speech, language, swallowing and cognitive function for the patients who come through our facility. Responsibilities and Duties :

• Create, administer and organize individualized plans of treatment for patients
• Instruct clients in techniques for more effective communication, including sign language, lip reading and voice improvement
• Educate patients and family members about various topics such as communication techniques and strategies to cope with or to avoid personal misunderstandings
• Communicate with the dietary department in regards to rehabilitation lunches for patients with swallow dysfunctions
• Participate in workshops and in-service meetings with staff
• Maintain records and documentation on the patients
