Job Description and Duties

The Disability Insurance Branch (DIB) is looking for an action-oriented individual to join the Hiring Services Unit (HSU) of the Employment Development Department (EDD) within the Disability Insurance Branch (DIB). Under the direction of the HSU manager, the HSU analyst will :

  • Develop, review, and maintain hiring templates and procedural guides
  • Review and audit all hiring related packages for accuracy, and completion
  • Track, and monitor vacancies to timely update the Vacancy Log
  • Maintain a high-level confidentiality and professionalism
  • Utilize innovative strategies for process improvement efficiencies
  • Creates educational presentation material for hiring managers to ensure best hiring practices
  • Builds and maintains excellent partnerships with staff, hiring managers, Executives, Human Resource and other customers

The DIB administers the State Disability Insurance (SDI) program, which includes Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave, Nonindustrial Disability Insurance (NDI) and NDI-Family Care Leave for state employees, and voluntary plans. The program covers more than 18 million workers and provides financial stability to workers and their families when they are unable to work as a result of their own disability or need to take time off work to bond with a new child, to care for a seriously ill family member, or to participate in a qualifying military event. We strive to deliver timely benefit payments and quality service to all of our customers.
