Job Summary : The company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Civil Structural Engineer with a valid California PE license. The ideal candidate will lead the design and analysis of light gauge steel framing systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings, working closely with architects, developers, and contractors. Key Responsibilities :
- Design, analyze, and detail cold-formed steel structures in accordance with California Building Code (CBC), AISI, and ASCE standards.
- Prepare structural calculations, drawings, and specifications for submittals and permitting.
- Stamp and sign structural documents as Engineer of Record for projects within California.
- Perform structural modeling using tools such as RISA, CFS, SAP2000, Revit, Telka Structures , and / or AutoCAD.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay current on industry codes, materials, and best practices specific to light gauge steel systems.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction administration support.
- Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing quality control and technical guidance. Qualifications : -Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.-Active California PE License (required). Experience stamping structural drawings-5+ years of structural engineering experience.-Proficiency in relevant structural analysis software (, RISA, CFS, ETABS, STAAD, AutoCAD).-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.-Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Preferred Qualifications : -Strong knowledge of cold-formed steel design, lateral systems, and seismic considerations.-Experience with design-build delivery or coordination with panelized / prefabricated systems.-Familiarity with DSA or OSHPD project requirements (if applicable).-PE License in other states-SE License (Structural Engineer - CA) is a plus but not required.
