Step Down; RN - Day shift - Newburgh, IN

NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)

Contract Length : 13 weeks

Guaranteed hours : 36 (will accept 48s upon request)

Shift Requirement : 12hr Days 6 : 30-7

Required Certs to be attached upon submittal : Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.

Minimum Experience REQUIRED : 2 years RN experience, 1 full year of stepdown experience, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.

Charting Experience : Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)

Float Requirement : First to float within skillset.

Weekend / Holiday Requirement : Three weekends out of every six week schedule. Every other holiday.

Patient Population : Cardiac (post cath stents / interventions, pacers), CIWA / BH, Sepsis, DKA, CVA, CPAP, feeding tubes, crani POD 2, GI bleeds, hypothermic / bear hugger.

REQUIRED- Tele / 12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), Initiate / titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, Heparin, Insulin, etc.). Post surgical assessment / care. NIHSS / Neuro assessments / dysphagia screen.

PREFFERED- Stable home vents, PleurX drain / pericardial drains, lumber drains, VP shunts, Narcan drips. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!

Hard worker, resilient and manages change well, social candidates.

Unit Information : 16 beds; Ratio : Days 1 : 3-4; NOCs 1 : 3-4 (1 : 5 for M / S). CN takes 1 : 2 patient assignment.

Unit Strengths : Fantastic CNA support, very helpful charge nurses, great teamwork.

Scrub Colors : Navy blue scrubs
