This is a hands-on role that requires a proactive, solution-oriented approach, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. This position may require occasional travel to company sites, vendor meetings, or partner locations to support implementations, on-site assessments, or infrastructure rollouts.

Hiring Range :

The hiring range for this position is $115,000-$120,000 annually with quarterly profit sharing. This is the base pay scale range Caltrol reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of this posting. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary based on geographic region, skills, qualifications, and experience of the candidate along with the requirements of the position.

What you'll be doing :

  • Configure and maintain enterprise firewall and security solutions to ensure secure traffic management and threat protection. Manage enterprise-grade switching and network management platforms for performance and reliability.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain AWS-based systems (e.g., compute, storage, networking, identity management) for scalability, security, and cost efficiency. Utilize automation tools, including infrastructure as code (IaC) like Terraform or similar, to streamline operations.
  • Administer Microsoft 365, with a focus on SharePoint for document management, user permissions, workflows, and integrations with Teams and automation platforms (e.g., Power Platform).
  • Facilitate connectivity between on-premises and cloud environments (AWS, M365) using secure connectivity solutions (e.g., VPNs, direct connections) and identity management integration.
  • Implement and enforce security policies across AWS, M365, and network systems, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Resolve complex technical issues in cloud, network, and collaboration systems.
  • Leverage monitoring tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, M365 admin tools, network management platforms) to track system performance and optimize costs. Provide actionable reports to the IT Director.
  • Lead initiatives such as cloud migrations, network upgrades, or collaboration platform deployments. Contribute to strategic IT planning and disaster recovery.
  • Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations and processes. Train team members to ensure operational resilience.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and technology adoption.

What we’re looking for :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent experience.
  • 5-7 years in IT infrastructure, with hands-on experience in cloud computing and network management.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Project management skills to lead technical initiatives with minimal disruption.
  • Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred :

  • Experience in a small to mid-sized organization.
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., associate, or professional-level credentials in a major cloud platform).
  • Networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, associate-level switching or routing credentials).
  • Microsoft 365 Certified : SharePoint Administrator or Enterprise Administrator Expert.
  • Security-focused certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+).

  • Work Environment / Work Schedule :

    This position reports to the Las Vegas office Monday – Friday. May be eligible for a hybrid schedule after one year and at the discretion of the IT Director.

    Physical Demands :

    This job is performed in a typical office setting. Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, mice, phones, and other office equipment. Occasional lifting or moving of equipment such as monitors, laptops, printers, or network hardware (typically up to 25 pounds). Ability to stoop, kneel, crawl, or crouch when installing or troubleshooting hardware under desks or in server racks. Visual acuity to read and analyze data on computer screens or printed materials.

    Travel :

    Occasional travel to other Caltrol offices (AZ and CA). Some overnights may be required.
