POSITION OVERVIEW

MetroSys is seeking a seasoned Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of scalable, high-performance data systems. Reporting directly to the CTO, this individual will set strategic architectural standards, align technical solutions with business objectives, and provide mentorship to our growing team of data engineers.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in data modeling, cloud-native architectures, and experience working with AWS technologies such as Redshift, Athena, DynamoDB , and visualization tools like Tableau . Experience with AI / ML data enablement and large language models (LLMs) is highly desired.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

AI / ML Infrastructure Enablement

Architect and maintain AI-ready data environments using Amazon Bedrock for LLM integration (Claude, Llama, Titan, etc.). Develop secure and compliant pipelines for prompt engineering and model fine-tuning.

Data Architecture & Modeling

Design and optimize data systems using both SQL and NoSQL paradigms (e.g., DynamoDB). Ensure data is structured to support real-time and batch inference workflows.

Cloud Data Platforms

Architect solutions using AWS services including Redshift, Athena, Lambda, and S3 for efficient storage, processing, and analytics workflows.

ETL and Data Integration

Build and manage robust ETL pipelines with AWS Glue, Step Functions, and other modern orchestration tools.

Data Visualization & Reporting

Prepare data for dashboards and reporting solutions using Tableau or similar BI platforms.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

Use CloudFormation or Terraform to define and manage reusable data infrastructure components.

Security & Compliance

Ensure all data architectures adhere to privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA) and implement industry best practices for encryption and access control.

Performance & Reliability

Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, identifying improvements for reliability and scalability.

Collaboration & Mentorship

Work closely with product owners, engineers, and stakeholders. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)

Minimum 8 years of software or data engineering experience, with 3+ in an architectural capacity

Strong knowledge of data modeling and optimization for OLTP and OLAP systems

Hands-on experience with AWS data tools : Redshift, Athena, DynamoDB, S3

Prior work with generative AI / LLM environments (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, etc.)

Experience building secure, scalable data pipelines

Familiar with compliance and security standards relevant to data (e.g., CCPA, GDPR)
