About the role :
As a QA Engineer, you will be responsible for building out test repositories and executing tests, while working with cross-functional teams to maintain quality and promote efficiency. This role involves requirement analysis, test planning, and test case development across our various platforms and services. This individual works to set standards and procedures within the team. This experienced engineer should be a team player and passionate about the team's success and the technology behind each product.
This position is not eligible for non-immigrant (H-1B, H-1B1, TN, E-3, L-1, etc.) or immigrant visa sponsorship (PERM and employment-based green card).
What you'll do :
Support QA efforts by planning, developing, and executing automated and functional tests against data-centric applications and systems.
Troubleshoot issues, report on findings, and escalate issues as necessary
Develop and enhance QA documentation and processes that contribute and support the team.
Understand the value derived from releasing quality code rapidly to production and when to iterate on the results.
Analyze data to identify trends in product quality or defects with a goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
What experience we're looking for :
3-5+ years of experience in a dedicated QA role, with a focus on data testing.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for complex querying, data manipulation, and analysis (e.g., joins, subqueries, aggregations, window functions).
Experience with database testing methodologies, including data integrity validation, schema validation, performance testing of database queries, and data migration testing.
Hands-on experience with at least one relational database system (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and understanding of database concepts (ACID properties, indexing, normalization).
Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and Business Intelligence (BI) reporting concepts is a strong plus.
Experience with cloud platforms, Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, Astronomer, Prefect, Great Expectations, and / or Soda Cloud are a plus.
