Senior Software Engineer

Description

As a Senior Software Engineer , you'll join a small, high-impact Agile development team responsible for building and optimizing user interfaces and server-side applications in support of mission-critical systems. This role focuses on designing and developing modern web applications and visualization tools that render large-scale datasets and enhance the user experience for national security operations.

You'll work across the full stack-collaborating with mission customers and government stakeholders to define requirements, translate user needs into scalable solutions, and contribute to high-performance web-based tools. You'll also have the opportunity to take ownership of features, lead technical discussions, and continuously evolve the frontend / backend architecture using modern JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs, and DevSecOps tools.

You like to do this :

• Build high-performance, scalable web-based visualization interfaces using React and JavaScript
• Design and maintain microservices and APIs using Node.js and Express.js
• Translate wireframes, mockups, and user stories into clean, reusable, and accessible frontend code
• Implement accessibility best practices (Section 508 / WCAG)
• Debug UI / UX issues and optimize frontend performance
• Work closely with end users to gather feedback and improve product functionality
• Use GitLab for version control, CI / CD, and project workflows
• Support containerization and deployment via Docker and Kubernetes

Salary Range : $180,000 - $200,000
