Job Description
What You’ll Do :
- Support environmental planning efforts for transportation and infrastructure projects, primarily related to NEPA documentation, community impact assessments, and feasibility studies.
- Contribute to public and stakeholder engagement activities, helping to shape community-focused outcomes.
- Write and edit clear, technically accurate reports and documentation.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, environmental scientists, and planners across disciplines.
- Manage tasks independently while supporting senior staff on larger project efforts.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in planning, geography, environmental science, public administration, public policy, civil / environmental engineering, or a related field.At least 4 years of professional experience in one or more of the following : NEPA, transportation or environmental planning, natural or community resource analysis, public involvement, or technical writing.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a passion for community and stakeholder engagement.Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines independently.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and a basic understanding of ArcGIS.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience managing tasks or small projects, including scoping, budgeting, and scheduling.Background working in multidisciplinary teams, including coordination with roadway, hydraulics, traffic, and natural resource specialists.Familiarity with SCDOT processes and / or working with local governments in South Carolina.Active in professional organizations and comfortable building relationships within the planning and transportation community.A growth mindset and a strong desire to learn, lead, and contribute to a mission-driven team.Thanks & Regards,
