A Day in the Life of an Accounts Payable Specialist

You are the gate keeper for invoices, making daily inputs and keeping detailed records. You’ll ensure invoices are complete by clarifying invoice items, prices, data and signatures. You’ll assemble and review invoices and prepare vouchers with attention to every detail. You’ll help ensure the financial health of the company and get to work on a team that is diverse, dynamic, supportive and talented.

Work Schedule for an Accounts Payable Specialist

This position typically works a schedule of 40 hours per week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work remotely Mondays and Fridays. The Silver Spring office of Toole Design is our corporate headquarters. We are conveniently located just outside of Washington DC in downtown Silver Spring, two blocks from the Silver Spring Metrorail / MARC Station and bus depot. Our beautiful 8th floor suite offers stunning views of DC and surrounding Montgomery County. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit.

We are targeting a salary range of $60,350 to 64,000 for this position with the flexibility to negotiate for well qualified candidates.

Requirements

Qualifications of an Accounts Payable Specialist :

• An associate degree in accounting or equivalent years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
• At least 2 years of hands-on accounting experience
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), and experience with accounting software
• Knowledge of the project structure in a client / consultant business environment is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
