Position Title : Aircraft Inspector III
Location : Colorado Springs, CO 80916
Employment Type : Contract (12+ Months) with potential for permanent hire based on performance
Work Schedule : Monday to Friday, Normal Business Hours
About the Role
As an Aircraft Inspector III , you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of aircraft systems, equipment, and components. You’ll conduct inspections to verify airworthiness and adherence to manufacturer specifications and FAA regulations. This position requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of aircraft systems and components.
- Approve minor work for return to service (non-337 form).
- Identify and report any deviations from airworthiness standards.
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and internal quality standards.
Required Qualifications
Active FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).High school diploma or GED equivalent.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong understanding of aircraft systems, equipment, and inspection procedures.Preferred Qualifications
Inspection Authorization (IA) designation.Familiarity with 14 CFR Chapter 1.Experience in FAA Repair Station operations or government aviation inspection.Background in Aerospace & Defense, . Department of Defense, or . Military.Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to frequently walk, sit, stand, and climb stairs.Manual dexterity and visual acuity for detailed inspections.Lift or carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.Exposure to outdoor elements, loud noises, and hazardous materials.Safety-Sensitive Role
