Position Summary
The Community Troop Program Assistant serves as an assistant Girl Scout Leader to multiple troops, supporting Community Troop Managers during meetings and outings. The Community Troop Program Assistant may lead meetings and outings in the Community Troop Manager's absence, and may oversee small projects as needed. The position ensures that the Girl Scout program is accessible across demographic groups and delivered throughout the assigned jurisdiction. Learn more about the Community Troop Program.
This is a part-time position with variable weekly work hours depending upon scheduled programming. Candidates for this position must have consistent availability from midmorning to afternoon and / or from afternoon to early evening. Occasional weekend hours may be required. The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.94.
Essential Job Duties
- Assist Community Troop Managers with supervising and engaging the girls with Girl Scout programming, including assisting with activities, snacks, bathroom breaks, and clean up.
- Ensure the community troop experience is relevant, high quality, well rounded, and consistent, and meets the needs of the participants.
- Encourage and empower participants to lead activities and try new things.
- Provide support and assistance with field trips and events.
- Assist in ensuring that participants have exposure to all of the programs that Girl Scouts offers, including, but not limited to, product programs, camps, and community service.
- Promote Girl Scouting in the community by building awareness through networking opportunities.
- Ensure overall compliance with any applicable internal policies, guidelines and funding source regulations.
- Complete administrative tasks as required.
- Serve as a collaborative team member, working to advance the mission of Girl Scouts.
- Perform other duties as required and / or assigned.
